Stamped Loves Letting The Good Times Roll

13 Feb

Happy Fat Tuesday, everyone! If there’s a holiday we love around here (see: all of them), it’s Mardi Gras! We absolutely love everything about the South, and New Orleans is of course, at the heart and soul of it. We have had the privilege of working with quite a few NOLA brides, including one who is tying the knot this weekend, and let me tell you, there is some soul that goes into these weddings! From the first moment of getting caught up in the spirit of the city, the second line, the vibrant colors, the brass bands, and of course, the food and drinks, there’s more than just love in the air in New Orleans…it goes skin deep.

Our invitation suite for Amelia and Michael’s wedding was printed on metallic papers and used a rich and vibrant color palette and a red enclosure. It matched the colors and even the sunset their gorgeous venue provided. Doesn’t hurt they are the most adorable couple, either!

The extras we created for the wedding kept the same deep colors and ornate details. We love adding custom cake pull signs to our NOLA weddings. Do you know the tradition? It’s so fun to watch the girls pull their charms!

My fellow partygoers Lynn and Chad and I brought our own masks to the party. They were a hit on the dance floor. The bride took some photo booth props and lived it up with us.

This weekend, our dear friends Emily and Jim are celebrating their wedding. Here’s the suite we designed for them, complete with a welcome guide to the city.

I am packing my beads but have no doubt I’ll be able to reach up and grab a few still hanging in the trees from Mardi Gras.

(Holding up a hurricane) and toasting “Cheers!” to you and yours on this Fat Tuesday!

Stamped Celebrations: Catherine & Ben

8 Oct

Good Monday Morning, Friends! We are back from a wedding weekend in San Diego (gorgeous!) and excited to share another Stamped Celebration with you, this time featuring Catherine and Ben’s gorgeous southern summer brunch wedding. The first time I met Catherine and Ben, I was struck by their sincere southern charm. Catherine is a true southern belle, in the best version of that, with a warm, inviting house, kitchen exuding homemade fragrance, and even a sweet accent to boot. I knew she and Ben would have a down-to-earth and classy, heart-warming wedding. When they mentioned they were having a morning ceremony and a creative brunch menu to follow, I knew this would stand out, just like this fun couple. One of my favorite parts of creating the paper goods for Catherine and Ben’s wedding was working with a dear family friend of Catherine, Wanda Hanszen. Wanda calligraphied her daughter’s wedding invitations years ago, and Catherine knew as a young girl she’d always want Wanda to write out her own invitation. Wanda lives in Catherine’s hometown of Carthage, Texas, where I swear, everyone is related to Paula Deen in sweetness and sugar. We started with a save the date using coral and cream with hints of navy to pick up on the colors from their adorable engagement photos.

Check out their entire shoot here from ee photography. (Quick aside: Erin Woolsey is a great photographer! She has loads of great engagement shoots featuring unique locations and lots of cute sessions with couples holding various signs. We love those for engagement shoots!) The save the date featured some of Wanda’s unique handwriting, which we then used fully on the invitation suite, which we letterpressed in a warm grey on heavy lettra paper.

Catherine and Ben’s program utilized more of Wanda’s handwriting and was accented with a coral ribbon. We jazzed up the festivities with coral straws (love) and some custom napkins in gold, cream, and coral using C+B’s new monogram.

We just adore the color palette, Catherine’s dress, Ben’s loving gaze, and all of the soft details. We love the creative menu from The Mansion on Turtle Creek. Branching Out created the amazing floral design. Paige Chenault Events pulled it all together flawlessly.

Check out the flowers and design of the guestbook table. To die for, right?!   We adored working with Catherine and Ben (and Catherine’s cat-loving mama as well) and are thrilled to be creating some holiday greetings for them, too. It’s just the beginning! Check out the rest of the gorgeous photos here.

Cheers! SPC

A Great Way To Start The Week

25 Sep

Howdy, friends! I have decided to start a new beginning of the week tradition and thought you might, too. Even though I design loads of thank you notes, sometimes it’s hard to remember to actually write them (even when they are super cute)! So, Monday mornings, I’ve started to write at least one thank you note, or hand-written hello, congrats, I miss you, I love you, Happy Birthday, or I’m Proud Of You note to someone special. It’s amazing how far one stamp can go to make someone’s day. Starting the week by taking time to appreciate someone in your life is a great way to kick things off with a smile and some gratitude. And it’s funny how easy writing number 2 and 3 come after you start with 1.

Need some notes to get you started? Let us know!

Oh, and a fun pen or pencil and stamps make it that much easier. 😉

Happy Stamping!

A Shining Light: Melissa Darst Photography

4 Sep

Hello, everyone! Hope you had a great Labor Day Weekend! It’s with great joy that I share the new look of Melissa Darst Photography! Melissa is not only a shining light in my life, but such an incredibly talented photographer who literally radiates light from her heart into all of her photo shoots, parties, and more.

We love working on parties together with Melissa, and custom Christmas cards for her own family and clients are some of my favorite projects of the year. Melissa came up with the idea of “Shine Your Light” as the inspiration for her rebrand and together we worked on the new look and feel for her website and blog. Bold and bright colors of aqua, flame yellow, and hot pink come together to emphasize her coloful and vivid clients. Be sure to check out her Shine Your Light video created with Elle Films to learn all about Melissa and her incredible style and vision.

Stamped Celebrations: Jacob’s Fun In The Sun Party

2 Aug

Happy Thursday! We are back with another Stamped Celebration to share. It’s certainly that time of year when it’s hot enough outside (107 degrees today!) to have no choice but to be in a pool. So, when your sweet baby has a summer birthday, we love a “You Are My Sunshine” theme party. Our sweet little friend Jacob turned one last year, and we helped create a party that was full of fun in the sun. Our graphic and sunny invitations were the base for the party’s look and feel, and we built on that to add some personalization to the rest of the sunshiney day.

A nice idea for a first birthday party (or any where you request no gifts, please): ask for diapers, toys, etc. to be donated to a local children’s shelter, and/or The Birthday Party Project.

Jacob’s mom, Sara, made a great centerpiece using photos from Jacob throughout his big first year. She also made delicious sun cookies, and provided treats and beverages for the little (and big) kids. We made the custom banner, bubble and water labels, and cookie tags.

Jacob had a great birthday and we loved celebrating this little ray of sunshine.

Go Shine Today!
